Marathon de Berlin - Tigst Assefa devra être opérée au tendon d'Achille après sa victoire à Berlin

Dimanche, Assefa a longtemps semblé en passe d'améliorer le record du monde de la Kényane Ruth Chepngetich, mais tout a basculé dans les trois derniers kilomètres. Visiblement souffrante physiquement, elle n'a pas pu maintenir son rythme élevé. L'athlète a finalement franchi la ligne d'arrivée épuisée en 2h11:04, ce qui constitue tout de même le troisième meilleur temps de l'histoire, bien qu'il reste largement au-dessus du record du monde de 2h09:56.


Tigst Assefa s'était déjà imposée à Berlin en 2022 et 2023. Il y a trois ans, elle l'avait emporté en 2h11:53, établissant alors le record du monde.
