Nele Gilis, 29 ans, 11e mondiale, s'est inclinée en trois manches 11-8, 11-5 et 11-5 face à la 7e joueuse du monde, la Malaisienne de 26 ans Sivasangari Subramaniam.


Tinne Gilis (PSA 8/N.6) est également présente dans la capitale qatarienne. Mardi, elle jouera au deuxième tour contre l'Égyptienne Fayrouz Aboelkheir, la 12e mondiale.
